The BCGP was founded in 1972 and has a paid membership of over 1,500. The BCGP also supports efforts to create complete streets, and calm traffic. The Bicycle Coalition runs the annual Bike Philly bicycle ride, which serves as a fundraiser for the organization and the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia. Bike Philly is a closed-to-cars ride through the heart of Philadelphia in the style of Chicago’s annual Bike The Drive.
